Project Center for Next Generation Wireless and IoT

About

The Centre brings together university researchers and industry partners to develop 5G and 6G network infrastructure. Its work covers signal processing, information theory, edge computing, IoT system design and the application of machine learning to data transmission.

Research Directions
  • Digital signal processing. Massive MIMO receivers, beam selection, PAPR reduction in OFDM systems with hybrid beamforming, trainable signal processing, user localization.
  • Information and coding theory. Error-correcting codes and fundamental limits, unsourced random access, energy efficiency, decoding in the short-blocklength regime.
  • Development of 5G/6G mobile communication algorithms. Base station software and architectural modules, the protocol stack and its verification.
